Gastroensophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Barrett's Esophagus, Delayed Gastric Emptying (Gastroparesis), Duodenal Ulcers, Diverticulosis and Diverticulitis,Gas, Heartburn, Indigestion…

Do any of these sound familiar to you? Are you suffering from one or a few of them? Are you sick and tired of all the medications and getting absolutely no where?

Actually the answer may be very simple!

All of these diseases have one thing in common and that is digestion. We are not digesting our food properly.

Here’s the problem: We chomp three times – sling it off the tonsils - slam it down the esophagus and the stomach say’s thanks, but can you send down some teeth down here to chew this stuff up with?

Digestion starts in the mouth from the moment you put anything with flavor in it. That’s right! Chewing gum is a teaser to the digestion. Keep reading and find out what problems this is causing.

Starches are broken down in the mouth, they require the special enzymes in the saliva to break them down that is not present in the stomach.

After you swallow, the food goes down the esophagus and comes to a balloon type thing called the stomach just under the ribcage. The food is moved from side to side until it is digested or turned to liquid and then the sphincter muscle starts squirting the food out of the stomach to the intestines.

That’s what is supposed to happen.

Let’s say I go to work…10:00 am I go to the break room and there’s a box of donuts, I can’t resist so I grab one or two.

The sphincter muscles are still working on emptying the stomach of breakfast and guess what happens when the donuts are put into the mouth where the digestion starts?

That’s right! The sphincter muscle shuts off to wait until the donuts are taken care of. The stomach can’t continue emptying out from breakfast.

Two hours later…lunch and the whole thing starts over. The breakfast sausage and eggs are still in the 98.6 degree stomach and isn’t going anywhere. Now a couple of hours later a candy bar and soda pop…two to three hours later there’s dinner and a couple of hours later…snack before bed. Now the lights are turned off and the digestion system shuts down for the night while you are asleep. Guess what is still in your stomach...yesterdays breakfast and all the other food you ate that day...now the whole thing starts over today.

It's no wonder the average person has 12-15 pounds of fecal matter compacted in the intestines, and that is just the average. Some of us have alot more, and you're worried about germs?

A study conducted with nurses…They were told they could eat two bites of chocolate between every meal. Three days later they sent a scope down to take a look in the stomach and found traces of the very first meal from three days ago. Guess what kind of condition that food was in?

Putrefied!

Putrefied food is absorbed into the blood stream therefore causing bad blood.

Here’s a money saving tip for you, just go to your local McDonald's dumpster for your next meal. It won’t make a difference to the body because the body doesn’t care if it’s rotten going in or becomes rotten as it sits there.

You know what would happen if you left a piece of meat on the counter for the day right? Well, take that same piece of meat and leave it in a 100 degree oven for a day or two or three.

With the knowledge of how the body really works and digestion happens, it doesn’t make since to graze all day, does it?

Eating a diet rich in fiber, with lots of whole grains your body won’t need any food for 3-5 hours.

Think about it, the white bread and the white sugars don’t have any fiber in them. And while we are on this subject, check your labels carefully. If it says “100% Whole Wheat” buy it, if it just says “Wheat”, check the label. Chances are it will say “Enriched Wheat”. That simply means that 30 nutrients have been stripped and 4 have been added back. It’s the “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. What I give you 4 dollars for your 30 dollars?

Enjoy the pizzas, sandwiches, pasta’s **TIP**(boil the whole wheat pasta longer) this was a mistake I made in the beginning, I almost didn’t go back. I’m glad I did.

Use whole wheat and your body will repay you generously. You’ll also enjoy the way your clothes will fit. Less food = Less pounds. Those who eat whole wheat don’t have to worry about eating too much, it’s impossible.

Put the antacid companies out of business. Give your stomach a rest between meals and…

You will get better. GUARANTEED! 5 hours is the best, but go ahead and start out with 3, then move up from there.

**TIP**To get your digestion system off to a good start in the morning, drink a quart of warm water one hour before you eat. If you aren't used to drinking water, start off with two 8oz glasses. The water will give your body the fluid it needs to generate saliva, which is used to start digestion in the mouth. If you drink enough warm water just after rising, it will give your collin a good flush to start the day.

"Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day." "For they are life unto those that find them, and health unto all their flesh." Deuteronomy 32:46; Proverbs 4:22

Whole Wheat Bread

5C Boiling Water

Add:

1C Oats
2/3C Oil
2/3C Honey
4t Salt

Wait until mixture is cool enough to add yeast. It's safer to use a candy thermometer to measure temp at 110-115 degrees.

Add:

2T Dry Yeast and wait for yeast to proof or mixture to bubble up. Maybe 15-20 minutes.

Add:

1/2t Vitamin C Powder (Health Food Store)
1/2 - 2/3C Gluten Flour (Health Food Store)
10C Flour = 8 Whole Wheat & 3 White

If you are using a Kitchen Aid or Bosch Machine, the sides will come clean when you have added enough flour. Mixing by hand, forget the spoon, get your hands in there and mix it together until the dough forms a ball. Kneed 10 min. Divide into two oil sprayed loaf pans, shaped like a football in the middle. Cover with a towel. Place in oven that has been heated to 170 degrees and turned off. Wait for the dough to rise double the size you started with (20-30 minutes) and then turn on the oven to 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

You can use this bread receipe for pizza dough, just take some and roll it out to a very thin crust and raise it.

Don't worry if you don't get it perfect the first time. Usually it will take a practice or two.
You can do it and you will love it! You'll never want to go back to store bought again!

"Why Am I So Tired & What Can I Do About It?"

According to recent U.S. data, some 3.3 million patients each year visit their doctors for insomnia alone. And in Western nations, insomnia and related concerns have even been documented in preschool children and a German study found that 12 percent of four to five year old children had difficulties falling asleep.

Literally millions are crying out, “Why Am I So Tired & What Can I Do About It?”

There is now recognition among scientists that a very important hormone dubbed the “fix and rejuvenate” nighttime hormone decreases rapidly as we age. This hormone (melatonin) may actually help to delay some of the changes that we normally attribute to aging. Melatonin also decreases in animals as they age.

There is more evidence that melatonin may help to slow the aging process.

Nighttime levels of Melatonin peak in children between one and five years old and decrease steadily throughout puberty. By the end of puberty, peak melatonin levels have decreased 75% and continue to decrease throughout adult life.

Melatonin plays a big part as an Antioxidant. There is indication that melatonin protects against free radical damage from certain carcinogens, herbicides and radiation. Melatonin also helps fight cancer, stress, high blood pressure. It also may lower cholesterol and blood pressure, enhances the immune system, increases bone health thereby fighting bone loss that leads to Osteoporosis.

So where do I go from here you ask?

Get your body to produce more Melatonin.

What would happen if you took the oil filter out of your car? It seems like a fairly insignificant part to play in the over all roll of your car, right? That comes from a woman by the way. Regardless, even I know that would be a mistake.

Besides the following lifestyle and dietary changes one can incorporate, recent science shows missing nutrition at the cellular level called glyconutrition. Research is proving more and more that the body can actually reverse it self and heal from medically impossible illnesses when the missing nutrition is returned to the diet.

Habits that increase Melatonin production:

Increase exposure to natural light and minimize exposure to artificial light.
Sleep in complete darkness.
Eat foods rich in melatonin, tryptophan and vitamin B6.
Avoid a calcium deficiency.
Restrict food intake in general.
Practice fasting, especially in evening hours.

Foods high in Melatonin:

(pico-grams/grams of food)

Barley – 378
Banana – 460
Tomatoes – 500
Ginger – 583
Rice - 1,006
Corn – 1,366
Oats – 1,796

Foods high in Tryptophan
(mg/100 grams)

Whole milk – 46
Blackeyed Cowpeas – 267
Black Walnuts – 290
Almonds – 322
Sesame Seeds – 358
Gluten Flour – 510
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds – 578
Tofu – 747

Foods high in Vitamin B6
(mg/100 grams)

Lima Beans - 0.51
Lentils - 0.54
English - Walnuts 0.56
Banana - 0.58
Sesame seeds - 0.79
Sunflower Seeds - 0.81
Artichoke Hearts - 0.94
Sweet Bell Peppers - 2.22

Melatonin production is at its peak every day between 10pm and 10am, during our sleeping time.

“Sleep is worth far more before than after midnight. Two hours’ good sleep before twelve o’clock is worth more than four hours after twelve o’clock…”

Caution! Large amounts of Melatonin supplementation may in some cases pose significant harm.

Phytonutrients May Prevent Prostate Cancer

Free Report: "Secrets The Pharmaceutical Industry Hopes You'll Never Learn"

Now, I know after reading that headline you are asking,

"What are Phytonutrients?"

They are the Plant Nutrients that emerge into the VEGGIE in the LAST Stages of the Vine Ripening process.

Phytonutrients trigger your Defense system. They Defend against all of the toxins in our environment and foods, and even defend against Cancer!

MOST of us buy our veggies from the grocery store. Our produce has been picked early BEFORE the precious nutrients have entered the veggie or fruit, gassed for artificial ripening and then sent to our local market. Most have little taste or smell. THEY DO NOT have the Phytonutrients that are the fuel for our system.

PHYTONUTRIENTS: Nature's protectors.

Phytonutrients have protective phytochemicals and antioxidants that defend the body on the genetic, cellular, tissue and organ levels. Phytochemicals are natural protective nutrients found in plants that play an important role in balancing the body's host defense system. They remain in the roots of plants and trees until the fruit or vegetable is completely ripened and ready to reproduce. Then the phytochemicals flood up into the fragile fruit or vegetable to protect it against the harsh environment. When we eat fruits or vegetables that are allowed to ripen on the vine to this stage, the phytochemicals work to protect our bodies against toxins and diseases, prevent or destroy tumors, aid in the repair of the body; and the antioxidants protect against aging by neutralizing oxidative stress (the internal rusting of the body).

According to the National Cancer Institute, people who eat large quantities of vine ripened fruits and vegetables have reduced cancer risks. Also, the vine ripened cruciferous vegetables have been proven to have significant protective effects against heart disease.

So, you would have to eat BUCKETS per day of our store bought veggies to get the nutients neccessary to do any good to the body. OR, contact me for a better solution after reading in the article below how these Phytonutrients can Prevent Prostate Cancer!

Natural Substances In Fruits and Vegetables May Prevent Prostate Cancer
By Hong Mautz March 26 (CBS HealthWatch)

A natural substance found in some fruits, vegetables, tea, and grapes may offer additional treatment options in prostate cancer, according to new research presented on March 26 at the 92nd annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Scientific evidence has shown that the male hormone, androgen, is responsible for the development and growth of prostate cancer. Currently, the hormone therapy for prostate cancer is focused on reducing the androgen levels or blocking the interaction between androgen and androgen receptors but without affecting androgen receptor levels. Researchers say that androgen actions are controlled by androgen receptors, which can turn on some important genes that affect the biology of the prostate.

In this laboratory study,

researchers found the natural substance called quercetin, an abundant, naturally occurring flavinoid compound found in onions, apples, black and green tea, beans, dark green vegetables and citrus fruits, provided the protective effect against prostate cancer by inhibiting the expression and function of the androgen receptors.

"This is a new approach," says lead researcher of the study, Nianzeng Xing, MD, PhD, a research fellow at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. "Quercetin can inhibit the expression and function of the androgen receptor in human prostate cancer cells, indicating this natural substance has the potential to become an agent for prostate cancer prevention or treatment." The androgen receptor is very important in both the hormone- dependent prostate cancer and the hormone-independent prostate cancer. Quercetin can inhibit the expression of androgen receptor, and as a result, it can also inhibit the expression of androgen-regulated genes, such as prostate specific androgen (PSA), a well- defined, clinically used prostate cancer marker.

Researchers say that androgen deprivation or suppression therapy by surgery, or medication to remove or reduce the androgens is the cornerstone of current treatment for advanced prostate cancer. "Quercetin can inhibit the expression of androgen receptor and reduce the PSA level significantly," says Xing. "Due to this effect, it may be useful for prostate cancer treatment.

Melanie Polk, RD, director of nutrition education at the American Institute for Cancer Research in Washington, DC, says that although studies on quercetin are early-stage science, more and more evidence points to the beneficial effect of this natural substance in cancer prevention. "Quercetin is a protective phytochemical [phytonutrients], or substance in plant- based foods," says Polk. "This adds to the arsenal of protective substances when we eat a large variety of vegetables and fruits." Other studies have shown quercetin's protective effect in prostate cancer, says Polk.

Although this study adds to the massive research in the area, more research is needed to reach a conclusion on quercetin's protective effect on prostate cancer. "As we see more studies, scientists will learn more about this protective substance."

The EPA along with the Fish/Game and Wild Life organizations would have you believe that a little mercury in your fish is ok, but before you buy that hook line and sinker, consider the following health risks.

Negative effects on the reproductive system, fertility, neurological problems, lowered muscular strength, head aches, memory loss, difficulty coordinating movement and vision, dizziness, metal taste in the mouth, muscle spasms, pain and stiffness in the joints and muscles, nervous heart, very weak or very strong heart rate, and even death.

In pregnant women, exposure to small amount of methyl mercury can interfere with normal brain development of the developing child causing permanent learning disabilities. It may cause coordination problems, delayed walking, attention problems (ADD is fast becoming an epidemic, wonder why?), memory impairments and problems with language skills. Higher exposure can cause mental retardation and birth defects.

In recent studies, plant life was found to have a mere .02 ppm contamination compounds of mercury and other toxins, the insects and worms showed .06 ppm, then the rodents and snakes jumped significantly to 50., the fish jumped to a staggering 900. ppm. The toxins build up in the fatty tissues and unless the body has a significant time period free from additional toxins entering the body, it will just keep building and building.

Is that acceptable to you? It wasn’t for me, so I researched the alternatives to gaining the nutritional values found in fish, the most important being the heart healthy Omega-3.

The following are the best plant based sources of these vital fatty acids;

Flaxseed Oil – 1T = 7,526 mg
Walnuts – ¼ C = 1,703 mg
Wheat Germ Oil – 1T = 938 mg
Soybean Oil – 1T = 927 mg
Green Soybeans – 1C = 637 mg
Almonds – ¼ C = 136 mg
California Avocado – ½ C = 99 mg
Safflower Oil – 1T = 55 mg
1 Banana – 38 mg
1 Med Apple W/Peel – 25 mg
1 Slice Whole Wheat Bread – 11 mg

 One tablespoon per day of flaxseed oil should provide the recommended daily adult portion of linolenic acid, although "time-released" effects of consuming nuts and other linolenic-rich foods is being studied, and considered more beneficial than a once-daily oil intake.
 Flaxseed oil used for dietary supplementation should be kept in the refrigerator or freezer, and purchased from a supplier who refrigerates the liquid as well.
 Unripe flaxseeds contain a natural form of cyanide, and home gardeners should be cautious if trying to grow flax. The seeds must be ripe before harvesting. If attempting to grow flax at home, consult an experienced grower.

*******************************************************

Delicious Recipe:

Flax-Nut Sprinkle

¼ cup (2/3 dl) Walnuts, ground
¼ cup (2/3 dl) Flax seed meal
1 Tbs Date sugar or brown sugar
1/8 tsp salt

Mix and serve over toast, cereal, etc. Note: If you use the whole flax seed, use only ¼ cup (2/3 dl) and grind it in a coffee grinder to give you ½ cup (1 1/3 dl) of flax meal. Store in a tight container, refrigerate and use as needed.

Bon Appetite!
